What’s better than spending a day in downtown Nevada? Spending the night!
Residents and visitors can now stay in the 2nd story of a historic building, overlooking our Main Street District! A Catalyst Grant from Iowa Economic Development Authority, helped with the remodel of the upper story living spaces of the Tipton Building. This iconic Nevada building at the corner of 6th Street and K Avenue is now home to four beautiful apartments, with tall ceilings and exposed brick walls. While three of the apartments will be long-term rentals, the fourth is now an active overnight suite, available on the Airbnb website.
While Nevada does have many other great overnight options, this is the first in our downtown. With nearly all of our eateries being located on or near the Main Street, visitors to this space can walk to get breakfast, lunch and supper! A convenience store and pharmacy are also walkable places from the apartment. For entertainment, the historic Camelot Theater is on the same block and could be hosting a movie or concert that evening. The brewery across the street is also a fun option, with their board games and trivia nights. If guests want to get a work-out in, the yoga studio and a gym are both just a couple of blocks away.
We are excited about this new space and look forward to having overnight visitors in our downtown! The owners did a great job with the decor and furniture choices. There is even an old photo of the building hanging on the wall; a reminder of its historic nature.
