It is always inspiring to see Nevada businesses supporting one another. Business owners understand the power of collaboration, and when they come together, it benefits not only their ventures, but also the customers and the community at large. By actively promoting “shop local,” they aren’t just talking the talk—they’re walking the walk. This sense of unity strengthens the local economy and fosters a sense of pride, proving that supporting each other truly makes a difference.
Midwest Insurance Corporation (MIC) has a fun story about a way they supported several businesses at once and had an entertaining time doing so.
As a team building exercise, and to get the staff out of the office for an afternoon, MIC employees gathered into several groups. Their challenge? To complete a scavenger hunt that supported local businesses, giving them an opportunity to connect with their clients, while also collecting some prizes. The first group to return was the winner.
So, how did they do?
Each team completed four stops. Their visit to Good & Quick included everyone grabbing a beverage for the afternoon, a salty snack and something sweet. Next was Nevada Hardware, when everyone grabbed a Yeti cup for their beverage. Then there was Farm Grounds, where each employee picked up a Take & Bake meal (which is back!), so dinner was covered for the evening. Finally, everyone stopped at Sweet & Savory to pick a dessert to go with their dinner.
Not only did this excursion include supporting local businesses, but it encouraged some friendly competition and camaraderie among employees. Who doesn’t love a day out of the office and especially if it’s fun? Great idea MIC!
